How Long Can I Leave Arctic Fox Hair Dye In

In this day and age, we all want to try something new and edgy every day.  I believe that our hair is the foundation for making significant changes to our appearance. It is acceptable to experiment with your hair especially when you feel the need to change to something new by changing the color of your hair.

Hair coloring or hair dyeing is a popular practice of changing natural hair colors to colors that appear natural (e.g. black, brown, blonde) or unnatural (purple, bright red, blue). There is no medical benefit to this, and it is for cosmetic purposes only.

Changing your hair color gives you a new look whenever you want. Fashion has no boundaries these days, so girls can play with their hair however they want. It takes the patience of a saint or a few insider tips to keep your hair looking vibrant.

If you’ve ever had vibrant hair, you know how different it is from your regular hair color; without proper hair care, vibrant hair can go from blindingly bright to flat and dull in just a few washes.

What is this Semi-Permanent Hair Dye about?

Arctic Fox is a vibrant, cruelty-free, vegan semi-permanent hair dye that lasts longer, contains no harsh chemicals, and conditions your hair as you color.

This product is recommended for a few reasons which include:

  • Are semi-permanent hair colors that are highly pigmented and bleed less;
  • Fade within the original color spectrum (vibrant purple will fade to purple, for example);
  • Condition your hair after each use (to keep it moisturized); and
  • There are no harsh chemicals, drying alcohols, or PPDs in this product.

Arctic Fox was created to be one of the longest-lasting semi-permanent hair colors on the market, lasting between 4 and 8 weeks depending on your hair care routine.

However, using a high-quality, highly pigmented hair dye like Arctic Fox is only one piece of the puzzle – So the question is, which dye or color should you use? How do you keep your Arctic Fox color looking great for longer?

What is the Application Process like for arctic fox hair dye?

Hair coloring is a time-consuming process. If you’re concerned about how the color will look on your hair, I recommend performing a strand test (instructions for the strand test can be found below instructions for hair dying). If you’re ready to start dying, here are the recommended step-by-step instructions.

  • Shampoo your hair thoroughly, but don’t condition it; instead, thoroughly dry it.
  • To avoid staining your skin around your hairline, use coconut oil, vaseline, or another protective cream.
  • Put on protective gloves after pouring the desired amount of dye into a bowl.
  • With your color brush, start applying the dye as evenly as possible. Beginning at the nape of the neck and working upwards, work from the root to the ends.
  • Place a plastic cap over your head and leave it on for at least half an hour after you’ve colored your hair the desired amount (due to the lacking of harsh chemicals in the Arctic Fox hair dyes, it is perfectly safe to leave the dye in longer).
  • Remove the cap and rinse your hair (it is recommended that you rinse your hair in the sink rather than the shower for your first rinse). Rinse your hair thoroughly until the water runs clear. Before sleeping, wait for your hair to completely dry; if your skin is stained, use rubbing alcohol to remove the stain.

How Long Does Arctic Fox Hair Dye Last?

With proper care, your dye can last anywhere from four to eight weeks, according to the Arctic Fox website. Here are five quick tips to help you keep your color vibrant for longer.

  • Hair should be washed in cold water.
  • Use a sulfate-free shampoo that is dry.
  • When going outside, wear a hat.
  • Allow your hair to dry naturally.
  • Use gentle heat instead of harsh heat tools.

Tips to Make Arctic Fox Last Longer

Tips to Make Arctic Fox Last Longer

To keep your hair looking dreamy, vibrant, and lush, there are a few key tips to remember.

  • Hair should be lightened before it is dyed.

Start with a good base if you want your hair to be as bright as possible. The color will be more intense the lighter your hair is. However, you must be realistic about the amount of bleaching and lightening your hair can withstand. If you try to go from dark brown to blonde in one sitting, it’s unlikely that you’ll keep the structure of your hair, and we don’t recommend doing it at home!

When we pre-lighten your hair in the salon, we use Olaplex (a product formulated to protect hair from chemical damage) to protect and strengthen your hair’s bonds, preventing excessive breakage, keeping moisture locked in your hair, and resulting in less porous hair strands. Colour will bleed less and last longer if your hair is healthy.

  • Make the necessary preparations.

After you’ve bleached your hair, it may require some tender loving care to return to a healthy state. Avoid using heat on your hair without a heat protector by investing in some conditioning hair masks from your favorite salon or checking out ours online.

You should also learn to stretch out how often you wash your hair – for more information, see tip number four. Shampoo your hair with a clarifying or non-conditioning shampoo 24 to 48 hours before you apply the dye to remove any buildup and create the perfect canvas.

If you’re applying the dye at home, make sure to cover everything in your bathroom with towels, put on some gloves, and apply moisturizer around your hairline, ears, and forearms, where you’re likely to get dye; this will help to keep the dye from staining your belongings, hands, and skin as badly as possible.

Also, perform a patch or strand test before applying Arctic Fox to your entire head. While Arctic Fox is free of harsh chemicals and cruelty, you should always conduct a small test to see how the dye reacts to your skin and hair.

  • Allow It to Rise Fully

Apply the Arctic Fox color evenly to your hair and leave it to develop for at least 30-60 minutes. It may be beneficial to have a friend on hand to ensure that your dye is evenly applied and to assist you in applying a shower cap or cling wrap to keep your hair out of your face.

  • Increase the time between washes.

If you have stunning, colorful hair as a result of Arctic Fox, we want you to know that dry shampoo is your new best friend. Washing your hair regularly can remove the color, especially if you use abrasive shampoos and conditioners containing sulfates.

Your hair will adjust to your new hair-washing routine over time, and it will not become as greasy or “dirty” as it did previously. When you do need to wash your hair, be quick and use cold water. Use a dry shampoo in between washes to keep your hair looking clean.

  • Make use of a color shampoo and conditioner.

A color shampoo will extend the life of your Arctic Fox hair color. Colour protect shampoos are intended to repair and moisturize your hair while also locking in your hair color for a longer period. You can even change the color of your hair with color-specific conditioners and masks. For example, if you have red hair, you can use the Ice Cream Colour Mask in Cherry Red to add some oomph to it.

  • Remove the heat source

You must remember to turn the heat down when you shower and when using any heat styling products after you’ve turned the heat up with your hair color.

Heat accelerates the oxidation of hair dye chemicals, causing your new Arctic Fox hair color to fade more quickly. It will also dry out and damage your hair’s structure, resulting in split ends and breakage.

  • Excessive sun exposure should be avoided.

In the same way that the sun’s UV rays can harm your skin, they can also harm your hair. Your Arctic Fox hair color will fade and your hair will dry out if you expose it to the sun’s UV rays too much. Before going outside, put on a hat and spray your hair with a sun protection spray to protect your Arctic Fox hair color.

How long can I keep an open bottle of dye of Arctic Fox?

An opened bottle of Arctic Fox Hair Color goes well in the bottle for up to 12 months after opening, so you’ll have plenty of time to use it all! And if it doesn’t open, it will last up to 2 years! Make sure you store it in a cool and dry place.

What happens With Arctic hair fox on unbleached hair?

“Do I have to bleach my hair to utilize the color?” is one of the most often asked questions at Arctic Fox. While the answer to this issue isn’t always a straightforward yes or no, there are certain things you can do to improve the color payoff on several unbleached hair types!

I tried arctic fox blue jean baby on unbleached hair on myself and it turned this smoky blue. Absolutely loved it!

Some colors will look better on unbleached hair than others, so today we’ll go over the colors that have the best possibility of looking vibrant and noticeable on unbleached hair, as well as some tips and tactics to ensure you get the best results!

If your hair is more light brown or dark blonde, most colors will give you at least one color and you just want to avoid pastels and similar lighter shades but instead opt for something like Sunset Orange, Purple Rain, Aquamarine, or Alluring Poison.

The natural porosity of your hair will also influence how easily it absorbs pigment and how well it retains it during styling and washing. Although unbleached hair is typically less porous than bleached hair, porosity cannot be determined visually. Try soaking a strand of your hair in a cup of water instead. If it floats for a while before sinking, your hair is not porous, which means it will absorb pigment slowly and may not hold color as well.

Unbleached hair takes color differently than bleached hair, so your results may vary. However, you will have the best chance of seeing visible results if you use a dark and highly pigmented color on hair that has been freshly washed with shampoo only, no conditioner, and fully dried, as well as left for some extra time to ensure your hair can absorb as much pigment as possible!

To ensure that your hair cuticle is as open and absorbent as possible when the dye is applied, use a clarifying shampoo instead of regular shampoo before dying, as well as apply heat for at least 10 minutes during the processing time.

Does an arctic fox show up on brown hair?

If your hair is in more of a light brown or dark blonde range, most colors will give you at least a tint, and you’d just want to avoid pastels and similar lighter tones. Pre-lightening your hair is always a possibility if you have your heart set on a subtle pastel or a vivid, brilliant finish.

Mid brown to dark brown: Expect subtle shades that glow in the sun when using a dark hair color like Ritual or Purple Rain.

Very Dark Brown to Black Hair: You may notice hints and shimmer in the sun with Arctic Fox shades like Purple Rain or Blue Jean Baby, so if you are looking for smoothness without lightening, this is ideal.

My Thoughts on arctic fox or Manic Panic: Which is a Better Product?

My Thoughts on arctic fox or Manic Panic Which is a Better Product

Arctic Fox hair coloring probably won’t hurt the hair and contains conditioner, which will keep it from bothering you. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed to avoid discoloration. Arctic Fox is one of the most durable semi-permanent hair dyes on the market, each color will last 5 to 9 weeks depending on your hair care routine.

Unfortunately for me, Arctic Fox does not have a wide range of colors as I would have liked to see. As Arctic Fox colors more brightly it left my hair more drying and I was not happy.

Manic Panic fades away. But it is ideal for anyone who wants to try pastel colors because it has a gentle formula that does not dry out the hair.

That said,  Arctic Fox is recommended if your hair is very porous. This coloring tends to wear off less quickly in porous hair.

While Manic Panic offers the widest color range, Arctic Fox has two unique benefits that Manic Panic lacks. This brand has hair care products and other coloring conditioners that add variety to the color line.

Arctic Fox versus Manic Panic

The Arctic Fox color lasts longer, with a tinge of glamor that can keep it looking good. So you can use one according to your hair.

Look no further than Arctic Fox if you’re looking for the best semi-permanent hair color.

Arctic Fox hair color is a vibrant hair dye that is cruelty-free, vegan, and free of harsh chemicals, and it lasts longer in your hair!

The great thing about this brand is that even if the color starts to fade, it still looks cute and beautiful. Also, a sulfate-free dry shampoo keeps in mind that hair dye works great on blond or fairly white hair.
